Whether you are writing to communicate professionally or just informally communicating it is important to relay a clear message, that is easy to read and free of grammatical errors. The ability to improve written communication with the ease of a built-in browser extension is why I selected Grammarly for my Web 2.0 tool. Grammarly is a free browser extension tool that grammatically checks what you write, as you write, anywhere on the web.Even after proofreading my writing, I sometimes overlook simple tedious mistakes, these mistakes restrict my ability to portray a clear message and can make me seem unintelligible. Although the free version of Grammarly only checks for grammar, punctuation and spelling errors it is still an extremely useful writing tool that helps identify problematic errors in writing.
I believe Grammarly is the future for writing and shows innovation in the ability of technology to help writers. Another benefit of Grammarly is it can be used as a functional tool in actively allowing me to become a better writer. As I have been using Grammarly, I have noticed mistakes I make as I write. Grammarly may also be helpful for individuals for whom English is a second language.
Furthermore, I believe Grammarly is an imperative tool for professional writing and allows users to write more efficiently, as they are spending less time proofreading their work. In my future career in finance, I will need to email bosses, clients and transfer my knowledge professionally through written communication. With the use of Grammarly, I will be able to eliminate simplistic mistakes that would otherwise hinder my ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Overall, Grammarly shows the advancements of technology aiding us to become more accurate and professional writers. ReplyDeleteI have heard of Grammarly, but I have never used it before ever. I know many people who could use help with their grammar, and of course including me. I have only really used spellcheck on my word documents while writing my essays, but this apps whole entire purpose is to check your grammar unlike word docs. I feel like this application may be probably better then the spellcheck, but to get the actual Grammarly application is more work to do. I think in the future when I am not always using word documents this application will be very useful!

ReplyDeleteI have heard of Grammarly, but I have never used it before. Grammar is one of the best and worst parts of school, in our careers and just life in general. I know I could use this on a daily basis. One of the most important times I need this is when sending out emails. As a student and full-time employee I am always on the go sending my emails. This tool would more than help me edit those! I am going to be using this tool more, thank you!
I've also heard of Grammarly but have never used it. Spell check just doesn't do the trick in checking the grammar of a sentence(s). It will tell you a word is correct, even though, it is not used in the correct text. I could have certainly used this tool with my prior writing classes. I will use it with my current personal/professional electronic communications! Great tool for resume building. Thanks for the presentation!

ReplyDeleteThis truly is a useful app. From my experience, a lot of people, (including myself), make a lot of typos. Almost everybody would benefit from this app. The point of the smackdowns is to find an app that can help us in our professional careers and I believe that this app can help virtually anybody in virtually any career and may be the most helpful app I have seen yet.

Many of us make common errors in writing and are pressured about how our grades may be affected just from them. I have people in my family who speak English as a second language and want to further their studies. They can utilize this app to help them word things in the right manner. I will use this to improve my future essays and assignments in the future as well as staying professional as a physician.
